Sean P. Griffin

Attorney

Sean P. Griffin is an Attorney at West and Dunn focusing on civil litigation, municipal law, and veterans appeals at the Court of Appeals for Veterans Claims. A graduate of Wisconsin Law School, Sean has experience representing business, municipalities, and property owners in litigation, property disputes, and planning and zoning matters. Sean has experience preparing pleadings, drafting real estate documents, prosecuting ordinance violations, and appearing before municipal boards and plan commissions.

While in law school, Sean developed litigation skills while interning in the chambers of Court of Appeals Judge Mark D. Gundrum, working for a Wisconsin County Corporation Counsel, and clerking for a firm’s municipal and litigation practice groups. Additionally, Sean competed on the Wisconsin Law School Mock Trial team where he was a regional finalist and outstanding trial advocacy award winner and served as the Wisconsin International Law Journal’s Lead Senior Managing Editor.

Prior to attending law school, Sean worked as a City Planner for a large Iowa Municipality where he focused mainly on long-term planning and land use matters where he regularly appeared before the Board of Appeals, Plan Commission, and City Council.

Sean grew up in Waunakee and now lives in Madison. Outside of the office he can be found on the golf course, tennis court, and ski hill.
